2009. WELCOME TO THE NEW NIGUARDA.

The new hospital will be developed using the most advanced construction techniques, respecting the historical buildings according to the indication of the Ministry for Culture and the Environment.
An innovative service concept and model of care will be guaranteed, with the collaboration of technical and health care professionals.

The numbers of the new hospital:

  • 330,000 square meter park with 165,000 square meters of buildings
  • 1,285 total beds
  • 448 new patient rooms
  • 53 intensive care beds
  • 34 operating rooms
Also included: parking areas, a scientific park, conference center, day-care center, shops, and a hotel to host family members or outpatients.

The first part of the new complex is scheduled to be completed by 2009, with the rest of the work finished in 2012.
